Damages Policy
Although we carefully check every individual book when packing our
boxes, sometimes things are missed or damage occurs in transit. If this
happens, we have a damages policy outlining when we can and when we cannot
replace a book. Please refer to the below and if your book meets the
criteria, please email help@thebutterflybookclub.co.uk for assistance.
Scratches
Visible scratches to the dust
jacket, case or sprayed edges of 2cm or larger
Tears to the dust jacket
Tearing to any part of the
dust jacket
Water damage
If your parcel arrives wet
(please note that photos of the wet packaging will be required to replace
books in this instance)
Creased pages
Any pages that are folded or
creased
Dents to corners
Crushed or dented corners
larger than 1cm
Off-centre printed edges
Printed edges that are off
centre by 0.5cm or more
Misfolded dust jackets
Dust jackets that are off
centre by 1cm or more on the spine
Missing foil sections
Foiling with damage of 1cm of
more
The following do not count as
damage and cannot be replaced:
Small scuffs to the cover
and/or edges
Fading of sprayed edges
Small white spots on sprayed
edges
Wavy pages
Slightly loose dust jacktes
Small imperfections to foiling
Ink/paint scents
Bleed of sprayed edges onto
less than 8 pages
Small creases to the top and
bottom of the spine
Slightly blurry printed edges
or printed edge designs that misalign slightly
